2010 CLUB COMPETITION IS COMING!

It’s that time of year again, time for our annual Club Competition.  Last year’s competition was a truly amazing day, with more than half the club competing and all going home with a huge smile on their face, and a medal around their neck.  This year’s competition will be held on Sunday August 22^nd and is open to all Dynamite gymnasts age 5 and above (Gymstart, Teens, WAG, MAG, Trampoline, Tumbling and Junior squads). 

The highlight of the day for our kids is of course their medal presentations; every gymnast who participates will win a medal to congratulate their efforts as well as gaining confidence as they perform their gymnastics skills for family and friends.

There will be food available on the day and we are increasing our menu to include steak burgers and chicken kebabs as well as the ever popular sausage sizzle.

Entry fee is $12 per gymnast and all entries are due by Saturday August 7^th 2010; see the attached flyer for details and an entry form.

BLOCK DATES – Block 4 starts Monday August 2nd, a quick reminder to collect your invoices from the front counter. 

Block 4 will encompass the EKKA Show week, the gym will remain open for all normal classes during EKKA week and we have some exciting EKKA Themed circuits planned for our little ones. 

This block will also include the September school holidays and all classes will run as normal usual with a bit of extra school holiday fun added in!  We will continue to offer our special deal for families over the school holidays where siblings can join in their brothers and sisters classes for a casual fee of $10, this has been very popular with our Kindergym kids so it will also be available to any other class.

A reminder that Vacation Care will run throughout the school holidays on Tuesdays and Thursday from 8:30AM-5:00PM at a cost of $35 per day.  The kids who have been involved in vacation care have absolutely loved their time in the gym!

TEAM CHALLENGE RESULTS!

Congratulations to all gymnasts who participated in the 2010 team challenge over the June/July school holidays.  The gym looked fabulous with all the outstanding team posters and our classes were certainly exciting with lots of cheering and challenges.

The results are as follows.

1^st Place – Green Team (The Wasabi Warriors) on 798 points

2^nd place – Yellow Team (The Lightning Leopards) on 648 points

3^rd place – Blue Team (The Sapphire Stars) on 556 points

4^th place – Red Team (The Red Rockets) on 535 points

A big Thank you to our team captains who came down and helped with the classes during the challenge, it was a wonderful inspiration to our younger gymnasts.  Thank you – Jayden D, Jessica C, Sam K, Todd H, Ciara H, Tahlia H, Matisse M, Crystal O and Hannah T. 

CONGRATULATIONS – To our Senior Performance team for placing 1^st at the Redcliffe CSTD festival on July 3^rd.  The team put on an amazing show which earned them an astounding 94 points out of 100 from the impressed judges, well done girls!

The kids are now gearing up for the Gold Coast eisteddfod on August 28^th; we wish them the best of luck!

The team also appeared at the St Catherine’s school fete on June 20^th as they unleashed their brand new Michael Jackson routine which they have been working hard on throughout 2010.

Our junior performance team are also showing they are going to be fabulous performers and are preparing for their very first performance as a group at the Dynamite Club Competition.

Well done to our competitors at the 2010 State championships, you all did a wonderful job representing yourselves and Club Dynamite and we are very proud! Our Elite members also participated in States and are presently away at National Championships so we will wait for their results and wish them well for the work they do and skills they achieve is truly amazing.

NEW CLASS – We have introduced a new class offering gymnastics fitness for competitive body builders.  The classes are taught by specialised coach and ex commonwealth games competitor – Dane Smith.  Monday afternoons - 2:00-3:00PM at a casual rate of $25 or discount rate of $105 for a 5 week block.

GYMSTART

Our Gymstart kids will receive their star certificates next week, kids are tested throughout the block in 10 key skill areas.  All gymnasts who do the full 90 minute class and have been here for the full block will receive a certificate.  We are excited to see the great progress the kids have made and are proud to share with you the wonderful achievements of your children. 

NEW HEIGHTS FOR OUR WAG LEVELS PROGRAM

The last two blocks have see the successful introduction of our new Advanced WAG program as a next step up from our WAG Levels class, we have been pleased to see that the girls are successfully learning many new and more challenging skills.  We are new turning our attention to all our WAG classes as we introduce a brand new testing program.

While class times and costs will remain the same, the class content will become more exciting and challenging.  Under the new program the girls will get to progress faster and learn more “real” gymnastics in the same safe and fun class environment. And something the kids will be very pleased to learn is that we will be introducing more trampoline work along with their other apparatus (bars, beam, vault and floor).  We hope you all thoroughly enjoy your classes and take pride in your fantastic gymnastics.
