| Feb 2008 Newsletter - Club Dynamite |
| Date Sent: Monday March 3rd, 2008 |
Welcome all to our first newsletter for 2008. It is great to hear the Club full of happy kid noise again and some classes are full already!
Amazingly quick, but Block 2 starts on 10th March, only a week away! This block will go through Easter and school holidays, we will be closed all public holidays and the Easter Saturday. Come along during the school holidays for some of the best classes, it's also a good time for siblings to try a class or two and just pay the casual rate. Invoices will be made up for 10 weeks exempting public holidays and left in the collection boxes from 10th March. Please try to attend all classes or arrange make-ups for any classes missed during the block. There will be a slight price rise in Block 2, approximately $1.00 per class; there will be no change for the squads.
Welcome to Kristel Suess on our coaching team in 2008, Kristel has an amazing background in martial arts having been world champion 4 times over 8 years and professional coach for 10 years. Kristel has also been trained in ballet and competitive gymnastics. We look forward to her enthusiasm and skill as a member of our coaching team. David Allen started with us at the end of 2007 and is excellent with trampoline, tumbling and school groups. Dave will fill in for Anna while she is busy with the new baby (due mid April) and also help out with John's classes.
Squad News: we have defined our gymnastics competition program for 2008, with specific entry requirements and a stronger competition focus. The coaches and gymnasts are excited to be off to a great start for 2008, lots of competitions, new skills and bonus a new leotard as well! The girls have been training hard under the direction of Casey Thomas, who will also program the feeder squads to ensure clear guidelines and transitions between the different classes.
New shirts for all of our competition teams, both gymnastics and trampoline have been ordered, so Club Dynamite should look pretty swish in 2008!
Our Cheerleaders are keen to compete this year but don't have quite enough students. The cheerleaders are usually over 10 years old and enjoy dancing. We need a minimum team of 10 students, at present we have 7........... come on, give it a try!
We are still working on new "Club" shirts for all members, something bright, funky and affordable.. The idea is to have a registration package ready for 2009 including the new shirts and some fun presents. I plan to have the shirts available to purchase later in the year.
Have you all noticed our new leotard venture, all the sparkly stuff in the cabinet beside the front desk? Stock in the cabinet is imported from the States and of the highest quality, we will change stock every month and alternate between types of training gear, either leotards or shorts and singlet tops.. Let us know what stock/styles you would like to see available. Prices: Leotards $50.00 Shorts $22.50
The new gym layout is working well with greater use of apparatus and a second set of uneven bars is fantastic. We do need to be careful of how we move around the gym safely. Walking from the toilet area to just alongside the trampoline and across the top of the floor area. This still takes everyone across the top of the vault run and caution and awareness of groups training must be shown at all times.
Housekeeping:
BUNNINGS ENTRY WILL BE CLOSED TO PARENTS AND CLIENTS...THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE...BOTH FOR BUNNINGS TRUCK DRIVERS AND OUR GYMNASTS RUNNING DOWN TO VAULT.
All students must be collected from inside the gym; we cannot allow children to wait in the car park. It is possible to drive your car right up to the netting to drop off and pick up.
Drink bottles. We all need lots of water while training please make sure your child has one and that they are labelled clearly. Remember they can be filled at our clean water dispenser. We do throw them all out every school holiday so please collect them each class.
club Please keep long hair tied up, another safety issue, it may look pretty hanging out but not so pretty when tangled in the trampoline mat or stepped on by a coach while she/he is spotting a skill, eg stepping in to hold a handstand.
That's all for now, stay happy and healthy, remember we are interested in any comments from you our clients so we can continue to improve our service. |
