BREAKING NEWS---SPORTS EXTRA---SOUTHERN STAR
Clubs impressive gold medal haul----gymnastics---Mansfield’s Club Dynamite is celebrating seven gold medals (men’s artistic
gymnastics) at the State Gymnastics Club Championships. About 700 rising gymnastics stars competed in the
championships. On gold medal count, men’s artistic was dominated by Club Dynamite and the Gold Coast Gymnastics Club. In
women’s artistic gymnastics, Clayfield’s Delta and Sumner Park’s Splitz Gymnastics reigned supreme. Moreton Bay College
from Manly West scooped the gold medal pool in rhythmic gymnastics, followed by Elite Rhythmic Gymnastics on the Gold
Coast.
Many thanks to our Elite team members combining their talents with Dynamite’s boys to achieve this fantastic result.
ON THE CLUB NEWS
Our trampolinists are currently on their way home from a spectacular week in Adelaide competing National Championships. A
fantastic experience for Kirsty and Nicole. Thank you to coach Anna Platt for all her hard work and dedication, many hours
were spent training the girls both here and at other more specialised venues to prepare for the event.
Our WAG squad girls have two more competitions for the year, Beenleigh and Mitchelton. Enjoy the competitions girls knowing
you have trained to your individual BEST for the season. Again a special thank-you to coach Kristen Reilly for all those extra
things she always manages to complete.
This week our gymstart students will be presented with their star certificates for block 4. There are 10 skill area’s each with 3
skills, which have been marked progressively over the 10 week block. As this is done over the full block newer gymnasts may
not have been marked in all skill areas yet. For each skill a child has mastered they receive a star in that box. It has been
fabulous to see that all the kids have mastered new skills from block 3, and our newer gymnasts have made an excellent start
to their skill learning and development. Well done!
Wet’n’Wild MAG Competition, congratulations to the Club Dynamite Pocket Rockets . A team of 6 of our MAG Level boys
competed in their very first external gymnastics competition on September 28th at the Gold Coast. Team members- Jack W,
Matthew K, Patrick S, Tom P, Jay S and Zac M did an outstanding job representing Club Dynamite for the first time. The team
placed 4th on Rings and 6th on Pommel horse to top off the excitement of the day. Photos of the competition are available on
the Club Dynamite website.
From block 5 we will be introducing an extended class time for our Friday MAG class. The boys are now moving into more
advanced skill development so this will allow them to progress to new heights with their gymnastics. Friday MAG Class time
block 5 – 5:00-7:00 PM
